An Idea So Good It Had To Be Bad

I love the idea of new ideas. New, fresh ideas that no one has thought about before.

The only problem is that sometimes the new, fresh ideas haven't been thought about before because they are simply unworkable (but great ideas).

Ben (from Noisy Decent Graphics) explains why their firm does NOT use an ice cream truck for presentations of their work. I'll admit my fascination with ice cream trucks that extends beyond just ice cream and the Smashing Pumpkins' Today video.

Thanks to Springwise for some of these ideas! Karaoke Ice photo on flickr.

Pick a Moo Card...Any Moo Card

I had calling card when I was a kid. Although I don't remember actually handing any out. Moo cards have proved much more useful. And now moo.com let's people mush together all of their online stuff.

Beautiful Environments from Nothing:Something

I love their aesthetic. It seems that since I'm really close to some of their projects in Williamsburg, I'll have to check them out.

Brain Is Full.

So the conference was really great. Inspiring. Funny.

Piers from psfk did a great job of pulling folks out of the woodwork to talk about diverse topics. I can't wait for the next one. I'll give details tomorrow when my brain empties out.

Psyop is cool!

Psyop is right around the corner from my current apartment (moving in one week though). Their work is great. This interview is great.

Favorite quote: "Magic happens daily! Around 3pm we feed our unicorns."

Mobile Ads

It's coming sooner rather than later. So let's figure out how to make them cool. More from the NYT.

Widgetization

I'm sometimes sad that Bloglines strips the blogs I read from their contexts. But I can get through them more efficiently. Erick Schonfeld ponders the pros and cons of personalized content delivery.

Here's my favorite quote: "If you try to put more than six or seven widgets on a page you soon discover why some people get paid to be Web designers and you don't."

Anachronistic Interaction

The Museum of Lost Interactions celebrates the weird and the wonderful (two of my favorite things). Working at Henry Ford Museum gave me an appreciation for all lost technologies but this takes it a step beyond just collection and curating.

My favorite is The Social Communicator.

The photo is of the typewriter collection at Henry Ford Museum.

Edible Legos

I know a few Lego fans who would be into this.

Personalized Kleenex Boxes

Do we need this? Do we want this? Dunno...

I Hate Banner Ads.

But I'm coming to grips with the necessity. It's always better when there are simple ones like this.

Previous Post or Next Post?

I totally agree. I am always confused. Older & newer makes way more sense to me.

"Cheers & Jeers for User Design"

CNet breaks it down for us. My favorite is USB cables. I forgot how inconvenient things used to be. Sort of like I forgot that contacts were annoying now that I've had Lasik.

bless them

i've admired bless since i stumbled upon their ads in i-D magazine from back in the day. it's good to see that they haven't lost their sense of humor with their products such as this climate confusion assistance.
