upon realizing the multi-media rich potential of iphone applications during his
own experience at new york's museum of modern art,  entrepreneur aaron radin
in partnership with sayoko knight teitelbaum founded toura. the company specializes
in smart phone applications with a focus on museum exhibitions.

according to radin, many devices used for exhibitions to date do not translate the content
of museums well. seeing opportunity in this, his company toura created a publishing
platform that has developed applications for clients such the art institute of chicago
smithsonian institute and the london royal academy of arts.

currently, radin is working to make publishing platform more of a self service tool.
in doing so, clients can customize their content while paying a fee for using toura's
publishing tool. on discussion of the future of his company, radin sees toura moving
beyond the scope of museum experiences, with interest already coming from medical
book publishers, shopping and travel sites.

Another Museum App

For MoMA

via Cool Hunting by Josh Rubin on 8/12/10

A new iPhone app puts 32,000 works of art in your pocket

Building on their esteemed collection, innovative programming, and an already digitally-savvy approach, MoMA continues to position itself as a standard-bearing institution of the 21st century with today's release of their free iPhone application. The mobile software integrates familiar features from the museum, like wall text and audio tours, with a vast database of info—putting everything from event calendars and a glossary to artist bios and 32,000 works of art into your pocket.

Other clever features include the ability to take a pic and send it as a postcard, and the option to listen to your own iTunes while using the app. With an in-house-designed interface optimized for looking at art on the iPhone 4's hi-res screen, MoMA keeps the art interactivity rich without sacrificing an intuitive user experience.

Download it from iTunes.

Being Targeted on Facebook...Me, Personally

I know this has been happening for a while. I like it. A copywriter targeted Odopod employees on Facebook with a simple ad that links out to his Posterous blog. Plus, he uses Posterous. I like that.

How much is that doggie in the window? Interactive dog projection.

My friend Jen must know how much I love projections (and of course dogs). Here's a great project where the dog interacts with you. I'd love to see it in person.

Perfect for Museum AV Programs

I'm sure it's a little pricey but these would be so amazing. Personal AV programs.

The Mixtape Club for those who love mixtapes

I'm still mourning the loss of Muxtape, so I'm hoping that the Mixtape Club helps me find the new music that I'll love.

I also made my first 21st century "mixtape" a few months ago. It's all digital. Just leave me a note or email me and I'll send it to you.
